【Kumamoto Earthquake Relief】Coin Pouch / SAKURA・RAINBOW

We would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the earthquake that struck the Kumamoto region on July 28.

To support the relief efforts in any way we can, UCHIDA HÔSEI is offering this Coin Pouch, and 100% of the sales proceeds will be donated to the official Kumamoto Prefecture Disaster Relief Fund.

A total of 100 pieces will be available in the following two colors:

・Coin Pouch SAKURA

This product is normally sold for ¥4,400 (product: ¥4,400 / shipping: ¥1,000). For this charity campaign, it will be offered at a special price of ¥6,000 (product: ¥5,000 / shipping: ¥1,000), with the additional amount contributing to the disaster relief donation.

If all 100 pieces are sold, we will donate a total of:

¥6,000 × 100 = ¥600,000

・International orders are welcome; however, international shipping charges will apply separately.
・Some of the pouches will be made to order. Shipping is scheduled to begin after the Obon holidays.
・This product cannot be purchased together with other items.

The collected funds will be donated to the official disaster relief fund established by Kumamoto Prefecture. After the donation has been completed, we will share the official donation receipt issued by the prefecture on our social media channels.

In 2018, our factory was also affected by the Western Japan floods, and we lost every roll of our precious RAINBOW denim fabric. Thanks to the kindness and support of so many people, we were able to revive it.

We have never forgotten that generosity. Through this project, we hope to pass that kindness on by supporting those who need it today.

Rescue and recovery efforts are still ongoing, and all of us at UCHIDA HÔSEI sincerely pray for the safety of everyone affected and for the swift return of peaceful daily life.

A pouch made from selvage denim scraps generated during jeans production. After sorting the fabric pieces, the scraps are soaked in water and sun-dried to prevent shrinkage and twisting. Then, they are hand-cut and sewn. We spare no effort in production to make use of valuable denim fabric. The charm of this product lies in the unevenness created by sewing unwashed fabric. It serves as a coin purse, card holder, and key holder.

The warp threads are indigo rope-dyed with a strong uneven texture. Four colors of weft threads express the "bud, beginning to bloom, full bloom, and beginning to fall" of cherry blossom petals.

RAINBOW
13.5oz, 100% cotton, selvedge denim (loom state)
The warp threads are pre-dyed in multiple colors and then re-dyed with indigo. As you wear it, the color fades, revealing a special rainbow-like appearance.

This product is rigid (unwashed).
Due to the nature of the fabric, some shrinkage will occur with washing.
Tumble drying is not recommended.
Due to the nature of indigo dye, color may transfer to other garments.
